Use scissors to carefully cut gum wrappers into thin strips. Clear ornaments are used for all sorts of things (including to hold socks!) so pick up whatever you can find and use the insides for something else. Sometimes you can find clear ornaments at a craft store or you can find them in the stocking stuffer aisle. The bare minimum requirements for this craft include a clear ornament (which you can find just about anywhere!), Extra gum and wrappers, and some kind of special toy or item to hide inside the ornament.
